About Motoforce

Motoforce and Motoforce Racing

Regular Motoforce parts are intended for repairs and everyday use – they replace worn original components. The Racing line cylinders, crankshafts and carburettors are designed for more powerful engines, so it is worth combining them with other performance parts.

Choosing a crankshaft by engine

A crankshaft is chosen by engine family, con rod length and gudgeon pin diameter. The product name states which engine the crankshaft is for – e.g. Peugeot vertical, Piaggio/Gilera or Minarelli vertical. When replacing the crankshaft, it is worth replacing the bearings and oil seals as well.

Fuel system odds and ends

Coloured fuel hoses and the Fast Flow II fuel filter are inexpensive parts that often solve problems with a clogged fuel system. Old hoses harden and crack, so when replacing the carburettor or filter it is worth replacing them too, and securing the new hoses with clips.

Frequently asked questions

Will Motoforce parts fit my scooter?

They will fit if the engine family or model given in the product name matches yours. If you don't know your engine, call +370 608 07699 or email your model and year to info@scootershop.lt.

What is the difference between aluminium and cast-iron cylinders?

An aluminium cylinder is lighter and dissipates heat better, so it suits sporty riding. A cast-iron cylinder is cheaper, more robust and easier to adapt, so it is often chosen for everyday use.

When do I need a PWK carburettor?

A PWK carburettor is chosen when the engine is tuned – with a larger cylinder and a sport exhaust. For a standard 50 cc engine the original carburettor is enough, and a larger one would only make riding at low revs worse.

Do I need to replace the crankshaft when replacing the cylinder?

Not necessarily, but for a performance cylinder that revs higher it is worth using a reinforced Racing crankshaft. If the old crankshaft has play in the bearings or con rod, it must be replaced.
