RMS is an Italian company from Seregno that distributes motorcycle, scooter and bicycle parts and develops its own spare parts brands. In the Scootershop catalogue you will find RMS brake pads, water pumps, variator parts, shock absorbers, gearbox shafts, covers and gaskets, and kick-start parts. There are plenty of crankshafts: STD and RACING for Minarelli horizontal and vertical, Peugeot and Piaggio/Gilera engines, as well as an STD 50 cc cylinder for the Minarelli horizontal AC and a shock absorber for the Vespa LX. The catalogue lists 132 products from €2.00. All items in stock are held at our warehouse in Kaunas and dispatched within 1–2 working days.

About RMS

STD or RACING crankshaft

RMS STD crankshafts are designed for standard engines – they replace a worn original crankshaft. RACING crankshafts are designed for tuned engines that rev higher. For Minarelli crankshafts, the gudgeon pin diameter (10 or 12 mm), given in the product name, matters.

Water pump and cooling

On liquid-cooled scooters the water pump eventually starts leaking through the oil seal or stops circulating coolant. Signs include a falling coolant level, coolant stains under the engine or overheating. When replacing the pump, it is worth changing the coolant and checking the hoses too.

Gearbox parts

RMS gearbox shafts, covers and gaskets help restore the final drive when it starts whining or leaking oil. Once the gearbox is apart, it is worth replacing the gasket, oil seals and gear oil, and choosing the shaft by engine family and number of teeth.

Frequently asked questions

Can RMS parts replace the original ones?

Yes, RMS makes spare parts as an alternative to the original ones. The key thing is to choose the part by the exact model or engine family – if in doubt, email your model and year to info@scootershop.lt.

How do I know the crankshaft needs replacing?

The most common signs are a metallic knocking, vibration, play when moving the flywheel side to side, or play in the con rod. The crankshaft is also often replaced after a cylinder seizure, as the bearings suffer.

How do I choose brake pads?

Brake pads are chosen by scooter model and caliper type, as their shape differs. Replace the pads on both sides of the same wheel at the same time, and brake gently for the first few kilometres until they bed in.

Can you check whether a part will fit?

Yes. Call +370 608 07699 or email info@scootershop.lt with your scooter's model, year and, if possible, engine number – we'll check whether the RMS part is suitable.
