Which Michelin model to choose
The Power Pure SC is a sportier tyre designed for spirited riding on dry and wet tarmac. The City Grip 2 is designed for riding in town in all weathers: its tread, with many fine sipes, grips better in damp and cool conditions, and the M+S marking shows that the tyre is suited to mud and snow.
Checking the size
All the Michelin tyres in the catalogue are for 13 inch rims. Before ordering, check the size printed on the sidewall of your current tyre (e.g. 130/60-13), the load index and the speed rating. Scooters often have different tyre sizes front and rear, so check both separately.
Frequently asked questions
Can the Michelin City Grip 2 be used in winter?
The City Grip 2 carries the M+S marking and is suited to cool and damp weather, so it is fine for riding in town all year round. Even so, no scooter tyre gives safe grip on ice or deep snow – riding in those conditions is not recommended.
How do I know which Michelin tyre will fit my scooter?
Check the size on the sidewall of your current tyre or in your scooter's specifications. If in doubt, email your model and year to info@scootershop.lt – we'll advise which Michelin tyres suit the front and which the rear.
Do new tyres need scrubbing in?
Yes. Residues of the manufacturing coating remain on the surface of new tyres, so for roughly the first 100 km ride more carefully, avoiding hard braking and steep lean angles in corners, especially on wet tarmac.
