About Doppler
Endurance crankshafts
Doppler Endurance crankshafts are designed for performance engines that rev higher than standard ones. The crankshaft is chosen by engine family: Peugeot horizontal and vertical, Piaggio/Gilera, Minarelli, Derbi D50B. When replacing the crankshaft, it is worth replacing the bearings and oil seals too.
CDI unit
The CDI controls ignition timing and often limits maximum revs. If the engine won't start even though there should be a spark, or cuts out when hot, the CDI may be one of the causes. Choose a new CDI by model and connector – e.g. the Yamaha Aerox and Neos 4T have their own unit.
Cables and handlebars
Brake and clutch cables stretch over time and start to stick. Replace them when the lever becomes stiff or the brake no longer returns. When fitting a sport handlebar with an adapter you may need longer cables – check before fitting that the old ones are long enough.

What is the difference between Endurance and ER1 crankshafts?
They are different Doppler crankshaft series for performance engines. In the catalogue, the ER1 is for the Derbi D50B engine, while the Endurance is made for several engine families. When choosing, the most important thing is that the crankshaft suits your engine and cylinder.
How do I know the CDI has failed?
Typical signs are no spark even though the spark plug, plug cap and winding are fine, or the engine cutting out when hot. Before replacing the CDI, check the connectors and earth lead, as a poor contact is often to blame.
Do I need to replace the cables when fitting a new handlebar?
Sometimes, yes. A sport handlebar with an adapter is often higher or wider, so the original brake and throttle cables may be too short. Before fitting, turn the handlebar to each side and check.
