About Carenzi

Performance crankshafts

Carenzi Racing crankshafts are designed for tuned engines that rev higher than standard ones. When choosing, the engine family and gudgeon pin diameter (PIN10 or PIN12) matter – the latter must match the piston in your cylinder. It is worth replacing the bearings and oil seals together with the crankshaft.

Daemon exhausts

Carenzi Daemon exhausts are made for geared mopeds with Derbi and Minarelli AM6 engines. A sport exhaust changes the power curve, so after fitting it is worth adjusting the carburettor jet and checking the spark plug colour. Use a new manifold gasket when fitting.

Air filters and foams

Carenzi foams are made for a specific engine family – Minarelli horizontal, vertical, Piaggio/Gilera – and fit into the standard filter housing. A sport air filter is chosen by carburettor: PHBG or PHVA/PHBN. Wash the foam regularly and oil it with filter oil.

Frequently asked questions

Will Carenzi parts fit my scooter?

Yes, if your engine family or model matches the one given in the product name. If you are unsure about the engine or gudgeon pin diameter, call +370 608 07699 or email info@scootershop.lt.

What is the difference between PIN10 and PIN12 crankshafts?

The gudgeon pin diameter differs – 10 mm or 12 mm. It must match the piston in your cylinder, so before replacing the crankshaft, check which cylinder you are using or plan to fit.

What is a torque spring?

The torque spring sits in the rear pulley and determines at what revs the variator shifts. A stiffer spring lets the engine rev higher before shifting, while a softer one shifts earlier.

Is a performance crankshaft suitable for a standard cylinder?

Yes, if the gudgeon pin diameter and con rod length match. Even so, a performance crankshaft pays off most in a tuned engine – for a standard one, a good-quality STD crankshaft is enough.
