Peugeot and SYM four-strokes
Some Peugeot 50 cc four-stroke scooters share their engine with SYM, which is why the Polini Hi-Speed is listed for both manufacturers. The product data lists the Speedfight 3 and 4 four-strokes (SF3 / SF4 4T), and for other models it's worth checking compatibility. Variators made for two-stroke Peugeots don't fit these engines.
What to check before changing
Before fitting a performance variator, check the belt width and the condition of the rear pulley – worn parts will reduce the effect of the new variator. If you want to fine-tune the belt position, you can fit Stage6 shims behind the variator, choosing their thickness according to the result.

Does changing a four-stroke variator increase top speed?
Acceleration improves the most, while top speed on a four-stroke 50 cc scooter changes less, as the limit is set by engine power. The effect is greatest when the belt and rollers are new.
Do Stage6 shims fit the Peugeot 4T?
The set is listed as fitting Minarelli, Peugeot and Honda shafts, and the shims measure 13 x 18.8 mm. Before fitting, compare the shim's inside diameter with your engine's shaft.
