A single lock or a full set
A lock set usually includes the ignition switch and the seat or storage lock, sometimes also the fuel cap, all opened with one key. It's worth choosing if you've lost your keys or a lock has been forced, so you don't have to carry several keys. A single lock will do when only the ignition switch has failed.
How to check fitment
The ignition switch must match not just in its mounting but also in its connector and number of wires. Compare the old switch with the photo, and if the name gives an OEM number, with the number on the housing. The year of manufacture matters too: for example, the Yamaha Aerox up to 2013 and the newer models have different switches.
When the key is stiff to turn
A key that is hard to turn often means moisture and dirt inside the lock. Graphite lubricant or a dedicated lock spray helps, but not oil, which attracts dust. If the barrel is worn and the key wobbles in it, it's better to replace the lock before the key jams completely.
Seat lock cable
If the seat won't open even though the key turns, the seat lock cable has usually snapped or stretched. It can be replaced on its own without changing the whole lock – in this category you'll find cables for the Yamaha Aerox up to 2013 and the Yamaha Booster. When replacing the cable, it's worth greasing the seat latch mechanism too.

What should I do if I've lost my scooter keys?
The simplest option is to buy a lock set in which the ignition and seat locks open with the same key. That way your scooter has a single set of keys again, and the lost keys will no longer fit its locks.
How do I know whether a lock will fit my scooter?
Choose by exact model and year of manufacture, and if there's an OEM number, compare it. If in doubt, email info@scootershop.lt or call +370 608 07699 with your scooter model and we'll advise.
Why won't my scooter start when I turn the key?
If the dashboard doesn't light up when you turn the key, the ignition switch contacts may have failed or a connector may have come loose. Use a multimeter to check whether the switch connects the wires in the ON position – if not, it needs replacing.
How long will it take to get my lock?
Locks in stock are dispatched within 1–2 working days to a DPD, Omniva or Venipak parcel locker or by courier. If you're in a hurry, you can collect the item from our shop in Kaunas, Draugystės g. 19D.
