Good to know

How to find the part for your model

Most electrical parts give the scooter model or engine family in their name – for example Yamaha Aerox, MBK Booster, Piaggio ZIP or Minarelli AM6. If a part is marked as universal, compare the connector type, voltage and mounting dimensions. Parts often differ between older and newer years of the same model, so pay attention to the year of manufacture.

Start with the power supply and connectors

Before replacing a more expensive part, check the simplest things: battery voltage, fuses, the earth lead and connectors where corrosion builds up. Many "electrical faults" turn out to be a loose connector block or a broken wire under the seat, so the wiring loom is the first thing worth inspecting.

Standard and performance parts

In the catalogue, parts are marked as standard or performance. Standard parts are for replacing a worn factory part, while performance parts are for a tuned scooter: performance ignitions often have no rev limiter and a different ignition curve, while LED lights or universal speedometers change the look and give you more information.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my scooter battery go flat so quickly?

The most common causes are an old battery, a faulty voltage regulator or a current drain through a damaged wire or added equipment. With the engine running, the voltage at the battery terminals should be about 13.5–14.5 V; if it doesn't rise, the charging system is at fault.

Will a performance ignition work with lights?

It depends on the version: for example, MVT Digital Direct ignitions are offered "with lights", i.e. with a lighting coil, so the lamps will work. Some versions are designed for scooters without a battery, so check the description before buying.

How do I know which electrical part fits my scooter?

First search by model, year of manufacture and engine type, and compare your old part with the photo. If you're still unsure, email your model and year to info@scootershop.lt or call +370 608 07699 – we'll help you choose.

Will a universal part fit any scooter?

Universal parts such as switches, wires or indicator relays fit many models, provided the voltage, number of contacts and mounting match. Before fitting, compare them with the old part and make a note of the wire colours.
