Good to know
Which headlight to choose
An original-shape headlight is the right choice when the old one is smashed or yellowed and you want to restore the scooter's looks. Performance TNT XR8, TNT Twin or Revo Quattro Style headlights are for MBK Booster and Yamaha Aerox owners after a more aggressive look. Before buying, check the bulb type and connector given in the description.
Booster and Aerox generations
MBK Booster headlights are split into those for models up to 2004 and later ones, and Yamaha Aerox headlights into those made up to 2013 and newer. Headlights from different generations aren't interchangeable, as the front panel shape and mounting differ. Match your scooter's year to the years given in the name.
Beam adjustment and care
After replacing the headlight, adjust the beam so the dipped beam doesn't dazzle oncoming traffic – there's usually an adjusting screw for this under the headlight or inside the panel. A yellowed plastic lens can be polished, but a cracked one is better replaced, as moisture gets in through the crack.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know whether a headlight will fit my scooter?
Headlights are chosen by model and generation, so match the years given in the name to your scooter. If in doubt, send your model or a photo of the front panel to info@scootershop.lt or call +370 608 07699.
Why is my headlight dim?
The most common causes are a yellowed or cloudy lens, a burnt reflector, the wrong bulb, or low voltage due to a weak generator or a poor earth. Check the connections and the bulb, and if the reflector is burnt, replace the whole headlight.
Can I fit a headlight myself?
Usually yes: you need to remove the front panel or handlebar cover, unplug the connector and undo the mounting screws. Performance headlights sometimes require rewiring, so note the wire colours before disconnecting them.
What's the difference between a replacement and a performance headlight?
A replacement copies the original shape and light layout, while a performance headlight changes the scooter's "face" – for example, the twin TNT Twin or Revo Quattro Style headlight for the Yamaha Aerox. Both mount in the original locations, provided they're made for the same model.
